Apostolic Legal Structure

Grace Canberra is a Company Limited by Guarantee (no share capital). It operates according to the Australian Corporations Law administered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. From the time we began as a new congregation we have used this structure in one form or another. Having begun with a broad based constitution, we have worked for five years to find a legal expression that was more akin to our spiritual values and to the way we operate the ministry. As a result we changed to a new company structure in 2007. Here is an outline of the way it works.

Company Members

The members of the GC Company comprise the four people who represent our apostolic and prophetic oversight. They exercise their stewardship through the Chairman, the Board and the Executive. They are responsible for appointing new members and Directors. The appointment of new members must be agreed to by the Board of Directors.

Chairman

The Members appoint the Chairman who chairs the Members meetings and the Board meetings. The current Chairman is Brian Medway.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors carry the legal, financial and property responsibilities for the ministry. The inaugural Directors are:

Ministry Executive

These people have been appointed in the church because of their particular ministry anointing. They are appointed by the Senior Minister in consultation with appropriate leaders and leadership groups in the church as appropriate.
